Fed: Coonan calls for debate on superannuation = 2

Federal Opposition Leader Simon Crean said the Howard government had "done nothing"

on superannuation for six years.

"The only time superannuation has ever been advanced in this country has been under
Labor governments," Mr Crean said in Melbourne.

"We have urged the government to join with us in a bipartisan way to advance superannuation
in this country, and the government to date have rejected it.

"If the government is now serious we would be delighted to sit down and work this issue through."
